If you are a student from outside Canada, the following information may be helpful.
Students who want to attend a university or college in Ontario do so through the
centralized application centres, one for university
applicants and the other for college applicants.
University Applications
For university application, the Ontario
Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) at http://www.ouac.on.ca
is the route. International students can apply to university online through the
OUAC 105 application. The OUAC website also includes links to all the universities
in Ontario.
The Ontario Universities' Application Centre processes applications only to universities
in Ontario. For information on universities outside Ontario, contact the individual
universities directly or consult the Association of Universities & Colleges of
Canada at http://www.aucc.ca
College Applications
Similarly, the Ontario
Colleges Application Services (OCAS) processes applications only to colleges
in Ontario and the website includes links to all the colleges. For college application,
go to the OCAS website
at http://www.ontariocolleges.ca
and select the International applicants' link in the "Getting Started" panel on
the left side of the page. You will find an International Applicant Guide in .pdf
format.
For information on colleges in provinces other than Ontario, contact the individual
colleges directly or consult the Association of
Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) at http://www.accc.ca/
for a list of colleges.
Studying In Canada
Citizens of other countries who want to study in Canada must obtain a visa before they can be admitted to the country. You must contact an immigration official at a Canadian Embassy that serves your country. You must have proof of admission to a program of study in Canada before applying for the study permit.
